IUA – UCF Launch

Last month, the IUA-UCF (Israel United Appeal – United Communal Fund) held a glamorous gala dinner at the Durban Jewish Centre to launch their new campaign. The IUA-UCF raises the much needed funds to support the vital work of various Jewish communal institutions and organizations.
For a taste of what the night was like, head over to our the CKNJ Facebook page:

Durban Children’s Home Memorial Garden

On September 21st, under the CKNJ’s Informal Education and Youth Portfolio, the Young Durban Committee spent the day revamping the Durban Children’s Home Memorial Garden. Nine high school learners together with their siblings and representatives from both Bnei Akiva and Netzer youth movements, worked alongside children from the home to create a new, beautiful garden. This was a fantastic opportunity for our youth to not only give back to the underprivileged but also to engage with and learn about the residents at the Durban Children’s Home. Thanks to Sue and Kendyll Jacobson for making this fantastic event happen!
