The Hebrew Order of David is an international organisation with lodges in South Africa, Israel, England and the USA. lt provides members with the opportunity to perform deeds of chesed (kindness), as well as an opportunity to enjoy an experience of chavershaft (camaraderie). lt acts as a forum for a number of adult Jewish males, serving the community and applying Jewish ideals and values while providing its members with the opportunity for personal development.

Lodge Jaffa provides many services to the local community, such as visiting the sick in hospital, providing teas for senior citizens, raising funds for distribution to charitable organisations, and coordinating outings for residents of Jewel House. The HOD makes an annual donation to local Jewish organisations endorsed by the CKNJ.
