The Synagogue Women’s Guild (SWG) exists to support and attend to the needs of the congregation of the Durban United Hebrew Congregation (DUHC). The Guild caters for a number of synagogue events, from weekly Shabbat meals (evening and morning Kiddush as well as Seudah Shlishit) to communal meals on chaggim (holy days) and personal smachot (celebrations)

In addition to providing delicious kosher catering for religious functions, the Guild fulfills the essential Jewish commandments of visiting the sick and comforting mourners. The SWG is grounded in communal activity and support, and as such is affiliated to the CKNJ and is a member of its Council.
